​Do you need to raise money? Try out a miniature golf fundraiser!

Over the past two years at Runners, we have been working hard on perfecting our ability to host mini golf fundraisers in order to help others earn money for their sports teams, non-profits, and other groups. Mini golf fundraisers are simple yet allow for customization to fit the character of each group that plays! Cost

There is no cost to rent out the course, but we do ask that you host the tournament outside normal hours to prevent regular traffic from being disrupted. We charge $2 per player in the tournament, and do not take anything from hole sponsor profits.

Profit

You pick the price, it can be per player, per team, or you can have both. For example, one year we hosted a tournament that charged $8 per person or $25 for a group of 4. This encourages people to find more people so they can play at a cheaper rate. We have also have had single rates that are equally as successful. Hole Sponsors are the best way to make a large profit. Sponsors pay to have an ad on a hole, generally $25 dollars is the sweet spot for donations. Some donors may pay more than that if you tell them about your cause. You can go to local businesses or even friends who may want to donate in memory of a loved one related to the organization.
​Another great way to make money is bring merchandise to sell. When Critter Camp and Cuts held their Pet and Putt tournament, they had many items for customers to look at. This included a dog tag machine, dog bandannas, and more. They also brought the rescues up for adoption so that people can look at dogs they may want to adopt.

How to Structure a Miniature Golf Fundraiser

Plan how you want the event to go a head of time. What style of play do you want? Scrambles are a team tournament where each player hits their ball and the team decides which location they want to hit from, each player hits from that location. Once the ball is in the hole, you write how many shots it took. Best ball is where every player hits their own ball and writes down the best score. You can also have team scores where everyone writes down their score and totals them all together.

The Day of the Miniature Golf Fundraiser

​Please bring your own change for hosting, this prevents any issues with transactions between our money and yours. The best way to move the tournament along is a shot gun start. This is where all the teams start on different holes. It helps to take into consideration how fast each group will play and their ability to walk. For example, my grandparents have played in two tournaments, the second time I started them on Hole 1, this way they did not have to walk through all the holes and they were at the back of the pack so they did not set the pace. If you set the order, I will highlight the score cards for each team so they know where to start, and my employees will help them to their holes.
